Chemistry/Physics/Science Teacher - Riverside High School
Start Date: 08/25/2026 for 2026-2027 School Year.
Physics/Chemistry endorsement required.
Riverside High School:
Riverside is the newest comprehensive high school in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. Riverside High School is a school of choice for all students within the district. Students chose Riverside for a variety of reasons; we are an International Baccalaureate High School and we offer comprehensive athletic and student-activities programs in a smaller school environment.
Position Description:
- Teach 6 of 8 periods within a block schedule
- Plan and instruct IB Physics, Physics, Chemistry & Forensic Science courses (grades 9-12)
- Experience with IB and/or Dual Credit preferred
- Collaborate with department, school staff, district and community stakeholders
- Communicate effectively with students, staff members and parents Plan for the instructional needs of all students and attend to the diverse needs of individuals while holding high-expectations for all students.
- Develop curriculum, lessons, assessments, and provide instruction using Common Core State Standards that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning using a rubric scoring and grading model
- Ability to create a student-centered classroom
- Model and teach respect with an emphasis on inclusion and an awareness of diversity
- Interest in becoming involved in the whole RHS community and participating in school-wide committees and activities
Responsibilities Include:
- Planning for the instructional needs of all students; Attending to the special needs of students;
- Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior;
- Implementing state and district curriculum;
- Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
- Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction;
- Creating an environment that maximizes student learning with a focus on character development;
- Developing partnerships that enhance student learning;
- Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity;
- Demonstrating continuous professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching;
- Masters Degree preferred;
- Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements;

At present time the district pays the 6% contribution to PERS on the employee's behalf.
